European Voluntary Service

The European Voluntary Service (EVS) is part of the European program Erasmus +. The EVS offers an experience of mobility and commitment in local organization in another country.


It allows to discover another culture and acquire useful skills for socio-professional integration. The volunteer is accompanied before, during and after by the structures involved in the project

Who can be volunteer ?  
  • Youth between 17 to 30 years old.
  • residents of a country participating in the program or in one of the partner countries. EVS should be outside the country of residence.
  • All young people without distinction, no training, experience, language diploma or knowledge are required to go on EVS.

Wich Project ?  

The project can be done in various fields such as art and culture, social, environmental and heritage protection, media and youth information, the fight against exclusion, racism and xenophobia, health, solidarity economy, sports, cultural diversity, the future of Europe ...


At the end of the project, the volunteer receives Youthpass attesting the participation and contribution of the voluntary project. It values the skills and gained experience.


The different types of projects are:

  • An individual or group project in a non-profit organization.
  • Voluntary activities helpful to the lucrative accueil.on community.
  • Each volunteer activity can be an Activity Agreement between the volunteer, a sending organization, a local host organization and a coordination organization (possibly).
How Long ?  
From 2 to 12 monts
What Price ?  

EVS is free for the volunteer, which is fed, housed and maintained throughout its mission. He also receives compensation but may be required to help fund his travel expenses.

Organizations need help cover this volunteering with other sources of financing (self-financing, co-financing). They receive for it the EU grant.

What Steps ?  

The volunteer contact an accredited sending organization by the French Agency Erasmus Programme Youth & Sport as Génération Monde. It helps to find and build his EVS). Organizations dealing with administrative procedures and grant application folder.
